Diana Cartwright, age 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 28, 2023 in Roundup, Montana. Diana was born Marilyn Walker in Yreka, CA on January 14, 1941 to Edward Bennett Walker and Annie Mae (Black) Walker. She grew up mainly in Santa Cruz, CA though also had deep roots in north central Texas. After living many years in Montana, she considered it to be her home and was a Montanan at heart.

She lived around the western United States in California, Oregon, Texas, and several towns in Montana. In 1972 she and husband Larry Swain moved to Roundup where she settled in and never left. Diana was fun-loving, artistic, always eager to socialize, and loved to play bingo and board and card games. She enjoyed her years of keeping score at the local bowling alley in Roundup and her affiliation with the Montana Arabian Horse Association. She was also an animal lover who had many beloved pets over the years.
She was preceded in death by both parents; by husbands Joe Gilmer, Larry W. Swain, Sr, and her soulmate, Richard “Dick” Cartwright; and by daughter Janet Louise Anderson. Diana is survived by children Joni Myers (Don), Dennis English (Amy), Michael Gilmer (Jackie), Martin Gilmer, and Larry “Skip” W. Swain, Jr; by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and by first husband Phillip Anderson.
