Obituary for Wyatt William "Bill" Frost
Bill was born to Alfred and Nellie Frost at his Uncle Ray Yerian’s home, on Hamilton Heights near Hamilton, MT. Bill graduated from Corvallis Schools after lettering in both football and track. Bill served in the Army in Germany and drove ambulance during the Korean Front. He married Alice Thomas on August 12th, 1952. They had three children, son Terry, daughters Joy and Sharon.

Bill drove milk truck in Corvallis for a time and then attended school for operating heavy equipment. In 1962 he began his life of working for the Forest Service where he held the position of the Fire Control Officer. Bill traveled to multiple other states and led forest fire management teams. After managing teams in Michigan’s worst forest fire season, he was honored with a prestigious award from the governor. During his career Bill was instrumental in creating and implementing the “Let it Burn Policy”, which is still in effect today. He retired from the Bitterroot National Forest in 1985.

Bill began a herd of Registered Black Angus cattle at his ranch in Corvallis, MT. The Frosty Creek Angus Ranch moved into Roundup, MT in 1999. Bill has resided at the ranch ever since. He loved riding his horse and pushing cattle. Bill died at his home as he wished.

Bill is survived by his wife, Alice, son Terry and daughter-in-law, LaVonne, daughter Joy Lloyd and her husband Phil and daughter Sharon. Bill had two grandsons, Trent and Trevor. The boys with their spouses, Ginetta and Marisha, brought joy to Bill with five great-grandchildren; Alexis, Hunter, Annamiek, Wyatt and Branson, and his fiancé’ Destiny. Bill has one great –great-granddaughter, Finnley.

Bill was proceeded in death by his parents, Alfred and Nell Frost, his brothers, George and Bob, and his sister, Jackie.

Please join us for graveside services at the Corvallis Cemetery, April 17th at 3:00 p.m. There will be a memorial gathering following at the Corvallis Firehall.
