Obituary for Roy Maxwell Belzer
Roy Maxwell “Max” Belzer was born January 19, 1925 in Givin, Iowa, the fourth child of Lawrence Roy “Ford” and Bertha Viola (Plum) Belzer. Max joined those that have gone before him on the 18th day of January 2018.

From his first marriage he had three children, Betty Jo (Bob) Wellman, Aaron “Randy”, and Robin (Dale) Hammitt. He has two living grandchildren from his first marriage, Matthew Wellman and Jamie (Mike) Funes as well as one Great Granddaughter, Elly Wellman, and two Great Grandsons, Sawyer and Mason Funes.

Max married Lavetta Becker in 1971 and became the stepfather to Wade, Wanda, Wendy and Wes.

His life revolved around his family, friends, and his animals. He has always had a dog and at one time or another horses or cows. His dog Mitsy survives him. He ranched, and worked construction for most of his life. He was a member of the original Musselshell Rodeo Association, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. There were no strangers in his life, just people he had not yet met.

He is survived by his wife, Lavetta, his daughter, Betty Jo and her husband, son-in-law, Dale, his grandchildren and great grandchildren, his step-children, Wanda, Wendy and Wes, and their children and grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, a brother, three nephews, his son, Aaron, step-son Wade, granddaughter, Lisa Wellman, and his daughter, Robin.

Wier Funeral Home will be handling the funeral arrangements. Funeral services will be at the Musselshell Community Church on the 27th day of January, 2018 at 11:00 o'clock a.m., burial at the Musselshell Cemetery reception at the Community Center in Musselshell will follow.

His family would like to thank the special care and assistance of the nurses and doctors at Billings Clinic as well as Riverstone Hospice. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
