Obituary for Robert Henry Jorgenson
Robert (Bob) H. Jorgenson, age 87, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 6, 2019 at the St. Vincent’s Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born July 20, 1931 in Roundup Montana to Henry and Eleanor Jorgenson. He attended school in Roundup graduating in May 1949. Bob went on to attend Montana State University graduating in 1954 with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture majoring in Agronomy. While in University he joined the Army reserves and continued on with his military service after graduation, serving in various places with one of his favourites being Fort Collins, Colorado. Following his discharge from the Army he met the love of his life, Margaret Eileen Murnion. After a six-month courtship, they were married on October 13, 1956 in Roundup Montana at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church. From this union, they were blessed with four beautiful daughters.
Bob grew up farming along side his dad when he was a young boy and came back to the family farm eventually purchasing it from his dad, who had homesteaded the ranch in 1910. His love of agriculture and farming spanned his whole life.
Bob was a devoted husband and father. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, taking his grandchildren out to the ranch to shoot gophers, roast hot dogs and make smores on the campfire, sledding, and ride four wheelers. He cherished his grandchildren, supporting them in all their endeavors whether it was in a gym on a field, he was always the number one fan. He also loved fishing trips with the family. When he wasn’t with his family, he was always busy with friends playing cards or going to dances.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Margaret Jorgenson and his daughters: Rona (Chester) Meyer from Ekalaka, Montana and their children, Caradee (Wes) Mulder, Wacey Meyer, Shaelyn (Josh) Bauer, Ches (Jessica) Meyer, and Jordan Meyer; Shannon (Doug) Robison from Billings, Montana and their children, Shadra, Shane and Danny Robison; Sheila (Dan) Brewer from Melstone, Montana and their children Marissa and Brock Soderberg and Dana (Marty) Thomsen from Lethbridge, Alberta and their children Katelyn and Cameron Thomsen as well as three great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Eleanor Jorgenson, as well as his sisters Lois Kenzka, Ada Ellis and Dorothy Carlson.

The family would like to thank the staff at Sunflower Gardens Assisted Living, the nurses and doctors at St Vincent Hospital, Roundup Memorial Hospital and Musselshell Ambulance Service for the loving care provided to Bob. Your care and compassion shown to Bob is so greatly appreciated.
