Mayme Kathleen Polich Barnabei
Mayme Polich Barnabei passed away Saturday, December 3, 2016 at the Roundup Memorial Hospital with her family by her side.
Mayme was born February 18, 1916 to father, George Polich, and mother, Antonja Radosevic Polich at Klein, Montana. She went to Klein School for her education. She was the fourth of five children.
She married Frankie Barnabei, November 13, 1937, at Lewistown, Montana.
Mayme and Frankie had no children of their own, but they were not only known to their nieces as Aunt Mayme and Uncle Frank, but also to their nieces friends as well. It was not unusual to see 2 or 3 kids with them, no matter where they went.
Fishing at Checkerboard with Frankie and her nieces was one of her favorite pastimes.
One of her proudest accomplishments was having her new home built in Gibbtown, Montana, at the age of 78. She was able to live in her home, on her own, for nineteen years.
Predeceased in death were Mayme’s mother and father, brothers Emil and Joe Polich, and sisters Elizabeth Stimac and Toni Ratkovich. She is survived by nieces JoAnn Mills and Georgia Juhl, great nieces Joyce Stookey, Donna O’Toole, Karen Ridenour, Mary Elizabeth Hatch, and great nephews Frank Stimac Jr., Jay and Michael Mills, Nathan Smith and great, great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 9, at Saint Benedict’s Catholic Church at 3:00 P.M. with burial to follow at Roundup Cemetery.
