Obituary for Marjorie Rose Lar
Marjorie R. (Bosen) Lar, 83, passed away peacefully in her sleep just before midnight on January 28, 2017. Marjorie was born on December 4, 1933, in Roundup Montana, the daughter of Emma (Miller) and Joseph Bosen. She was the oldest of three daughters.
She grew up on a ranch South of Musselshell and attended Musselshell School, graduating in 1951. During school she was a member of the volleyball team. On October 11, 1958, she married Joe Lar in Roundup, from this union had five children, eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Marge was very proud of all her children, stating that they were her greatest blessing.
Marjorie lived in Grass Range, Roundup and Melstone before retiring in Musselshell. She was always looking for a good game of pinochle or Yahtzee, including teaching all her grandkids, nieces and nephews how to play. She also enjoyed knitting, cross stitching and quilting.
Marjorie was a wonderful Grandmother, always willing to go watch a game, see a band concert or babysit. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was constantly sharing stories about the trouble they got into when they were little, keeping her on her toes as she would say. Marjorie will be dearly missed and has left a big hole in our hearts.
Marjorie is survived by her husband, Joe; children Mike (Wanda) Lar of Conway, AR; Matt Lar of Billings; Shawn (Pamela) Lar of Jefferson City; Connie (Rocky) Lar of Billings; sister, Joyce (Pat) Riley of Musselshell; grandchildren, Brittney (Mitch) Sims, Scott (Holly) Lar, Branden (Brittany) Lar, Luke (Marcia) Proulx, Cameron (Christina) Lar, Chase Lar, Tanner Lar and Jesse Owens. Great-Grandchildren Landon and Brynlee Sims and Landon & Shelby Lar. She is also survived by one aunt & uncle, Dan and Dorothy McCaffree of Roundup, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Barbara Koeing and daughter Laurie Proulx.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, February 6, 2017, St. Benedicts Catholic Church, Roundup. Interment will follow at the Musselshell Cemetery with a reception to follow at the Musselshell School.
