Obituary for Lois E. Champlin
Lois Elizabeth Champlin (Dobak), 75, passed away on June 20, 2016 in Billings, Montana.
Born September 3, 1940, to Merton and Margaret Dobak, Lois grew up in Minneapolis. There she met her lifelong best friend, Anita (Munson) Madsen, in second grade. After high school, Lois attended the University of Minnesota. She married Orin Raymond “Ray” Champlin, Jr. in May of 1959, graduating with a bachelor degree in education. She and Ray moved from Minnesota to Helena in 1967, where she and Ray taught school and raised their three children.
With a career that spanned more than 45 years and two continents, Lois taught in Minnesota, Montana; RAF Lakenheath in the United Kingdom, and at St. Catherine Catholic School in Sebring, Florida.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Ray Champlin, and survived by two brothers: Tim (Pam) Callahan and Jerry Dobak; children: Orin (Linda(Hopple)) Champlin, Kari Hand, and Chris (Wanda) Champlin; grandchildren: Breanainn Champlin, Alliya Champlin, Brisanna Champlin, Deshawn Lewis, Jessica Leavitt, Rachel Marx; great grandchildren Lyli Reinhardt, Deshawn Champlin, and Tiffany Champlin.
