In Loving Memory of Jennifer Magdalene Snortland
With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Jennifer Magdalene Snortland on January 23rd, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family and friends. Jennifer was a shining light in our lives, filling every room with her infectious humor and endless gift of gab.
Born on June 8, 1979, to Gary and Irene Snortland, Jennifer was the youngest of twelve children. From the moment she arrived, she brought joy, laughter, and a touch of mischief to our family. Doctors told us she wouldn’t live a full life, but Jennifer had other plans—she spent her 45 years proving them gloriously wrong.
Though Jennifer was “different,” our family never treated her that way. At one time or another, everyone was her “favorite,” but don’t tell mom. Jennifer had a rare gift for connection; she never met a stranger and never forgot a face. If you knew Jennifer, you could count on a phone call not just for your birthday but for your spouse’s, your child’s, your neighbor’s—or even that one guy you introduced her to once.
Jennifer’s remarkable memory was part of what made her so special, and watching her memory fade was one of the hardest parts of her journey. Still, she faced every challenge with the grace, strength and humor that defined her life.
Jennifer cherished the simple joys of lifetime spent with her friends, family, dancing and singing to her favorite music, and making those around her laugh. Cleaning toilets? Not so much.
Jennifer’s spirit, warmth, and ability to make everyone feel seen and loved will live on in the countless lives she touched. She will be profoundly missed but forever celebrated by her family, friends, and all who have the privilege of knowing her.
Jennifer is survived by her mother Irene Snortland, her sisters Paulette Ramsey (Dan), Kathleen Whetzel (Matt), Julie Diegel (Dale), Sandra Cordingly (Dira), Diane Bragg, Shirley Swanson (Steve), Mark Snortland (Cindy), and Jayson Snortland (Karen). Preceded in death by her father Gary Snortland, her brothers David, Micheal and Eric, and her brother in law Milton Cordingly.
Funeral services will be held on February 1st at 10:30 a.m. at the Catholic Church, with vigil being held on January 31st, at 7:00 p.m. also at the Catholic Church.
