Gordon Eugene Kilby Obituary
Our dear father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend Gordon Eugene Kilby passed on into Heaven to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus on the morning of March 1, 2025. Gordon was born on June 6th, 1929 to Alice and Boone Kilby in Roundup. He lived his entire life in Roundup except for the years he lived in Dickinson, N.D. He loved Roundup and the beautiful people and never did he express a desire to live elsewhere.
After high school, Gordon worked numerous jobs before moving to Dickinson to manage and operate the Roundup Power Co. with his bride Darlene Adolph whom he married on March 21st 1952 in the United Methodist Church. While in Dickinson their first was Michael Eugene (Mike) was born. Upon returning to Roundup their second child Lori Jean was born. Gordon worked several positions before buying into A & A Implement with Wayne and Harold Anderson, a very successful business. He was there until his retirement.
Because of his love for people and interest in the community, he served on the board of the Roundup Memorial Hospital, The Roundup Volunteer Fire Department of which he was Rural Fire Chef for many years. He was a member of the Roundup Moose Lodge, the Elks Lodge. The Masonic Lodge, the United Methodist Church and the Pine Ridge Golf Club. Gordon loved to hunt, fish, golf, bowl and even cook until his health began to fail. He looked forward to coffee with his buddies and most often seen mowing the grass or helping with numerous tasks and dinners at the church and parsonage or walking up the Laundry Hill and up Main Street.
Gordon is survived by his son Mike (Cheri) of Lewistown, his daughter Lori Fink (Garry) of Billings, and grand daughters Shyla Schlueter and Melissa Fink, three great grandchildren, Tristyn, Jaycee and Ethan, two great-great grandchildren, Bryar and Walker, sister Joy Grunstead, numerous nieces and nephews and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents, beloved wife Darlene and a sister Joanne Ray.
A special thank you for the excellent care, love and kindness showed to him by the Roundup Memorial Staff and the Sunflower Gardens staff and his dear devoted friends.
In honor of his request, there will be no funeral services. Cremation has taken place and a grave side service will be at a later date. Wier Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
