Obituary for Donna Myra Balich
Donna Myra (Collins) Balich passed away on January 17, 2016, surrounded by her loving family at home in Roundup, MT. She fought a long battle with frontal lobe dementia, but was able to remain at home under the care of her devoted husband, Robert Balich. Donna was born June 14, 1950 to Helen (Reeploeg) and Perry McKenzie in Great Falls, MT. Later, her mother married Guy Collins who raised Donna as his own. Donna graduated from Colstrip High School in 1968. She met her husband Robert Lee Balich and after a 2 week courtship, he asked her to get married. They were married shortly thereafter, on June 26, 1971 in Roundup, MT. It was love at first sight. They were true soulmates who shared a life full of adventures. They spent their years fishing, hunting, rock picking, camping, working on their house and yard, and spoiling their pets. They loved to travel, with trips across Montana, across the U.S., and across the oceans to South Korea and Germany. Donna's priority was always family, especially her husband, children, and grand-children. Her smile lit the room. Her mischievous ways brought much laughter. Her support made us strong. Donna is survived by her husband Robert Lee Balich; children Toni (Scot) Bonenberger and Rob (Ling) Balich; four grandchildren Samantha and Seth Bonenberger, Brayden Henson and Cindy Balich; her brother Ronald (Tetyana) McKenzie; her step-brothers Robert (Connie) Pluhar and Jack (Joanne) Collins, and in-laws who were as close to her as if she'd been born into the Balich family, especially her brother-in-law Mike (Marcia) Balich and Linda (Perry) Wojahn.
