Obituary for Cody James Harper
Cody James Harper, 27, of Roundup, Montana, a beloved husband, son, brother, friend, and animal lover earned his wings after a courageous fight against esophageal cancer.
Cody was born September 10, 1991 to Jim and Lisa Harper in Billings, Montana. Cody was the oldest of two children. He loved being a big brother to Cassie, which included telling her what to do, but especially watching over and protecting her. He grew up in Roundup on the Harper ranch and was very proud of his hometown. Growing up Cody participated in football, basketball, golf, and was actively involved in 4-H for 10 years. From an early age Cody found a passion for hunting and the great outdoors. Cody really did not enjoy getting up in the mornings unless hunting or helping his dad or grandpa on the ranch was involved.
In December of 2013 Cody met the love of his life, Lindsey Fox (Harper) of Park City. Cody and Lindsey shared hobbies and dreams years before they were married June 23, 2018. After marriage they continued to build their lives together on the Harper ranch. While both pursuing careers at Roundup High School.
Cody found his perfect fit of a career working with special needs students. Cody loved helping his wife, Lindsey, with various FFA functions including chaperoning trips, participating in FFA alumni, and most importantly being a role model for the agricultural youth.
Cody was a warrior in his heart and mind until the very end. In this courageous battle Cody had his wife, family, and communities by his side the whole time. Cody continued to bless others by donating the gift of sight so they can see life as he did.
Cody is survived by his loving wife, Lindsey Harper, parents, Jim and Lisa Harper, sister Cassie Harper of Roundup; his father and mother-in-law, Jerry and Vicki Fox of Park City; sister-in-laws, Shanna Fox and Mary DeWitt of Billings. Along with numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. Meeting him at the gates of Heaven are his beloved grandparents; Gerald and Ella Harper, Jim Borsvold, and Aunt Lynn Selby.
Funeral Services will be held at Roundup High School on Monday, July 15th at 11am.
Memorials can be made in Cody’s name to the Musselshell/Golden Valley 4-H Council or the Roundup FFA chapter.
Wier Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
